The Great Escape Alleycat Photos

The first alleycat of the year had an impressive turnout; well done, racers and organizers for putting on a great event. Cold but dry conditions meant some fast winter racing was in order. Claydor Gunnarwebb won the race and a full recap is on the way but here are the photos I took from the infamous passport checkpoint that tricked more than a few people.

Return of the Harbour Road Sprints - Recap

At 7pm on Friday, March 29, The Sprints returned to Harbour Road under a warm and dry evening sky (unlike previous years).

As always, there was a diverse cross-section of the cycling population in attendance, including an eclectic mix of some of Canada's finest athletes.

Robson's 'Rello Record

Some more beautiful images from our good friend, and Stuckylife/ Broad Street Cycles race team member Geoff "Freight Train" Robson.

This time around, an in-depth look at his rebuild of a classic Pinarello Record frame.

The Internet's best source for saliva-inducing images of vintage, exotic and hand built bicycles, Cycle EXIF, just ran a post on Robson's restoration.

Bike Check: Sam's Marinoni Pista

A veneer of mud and grit on Sam's new Marinoni is the finishing touch on a very nicely built track bike.

Hotel Grand Pacific Harbour Sprints - Round 2 Photos & Results

The end of 2012 is rapidly approaching, which means it's time to tie up some loose ends in the Stuckylife blogosphere (read: finally finish some posts from our busy, busy summer). So without further ado, here are the photos from the second and final round of the Hotel Grand Pacific Harbour Sprints!

Although I (Gillian) was in LA and not out there braving the torrential downpour, this was an evening that perhaps best illustrates what Stuckylife and our local community is really about - a willingness to celebrate all forms of cycling, no matter the circumstances, and tradition of general badassery.

Chainline Massacre III - Results and Recap

For the third consecutive year, Victoria's spookiest cemeteries and memorials took a breather from scaring children in Hallowe'en costumes, and stood in as checkpoints for one of the fastest and darkest alleycats of the year - The Victoria Chainline Massacre.

CoTR #2 - "Another Dodgey Cross Race"

Condo Cross photos courtesy of Leif Keithley.

For those of you who haven't seen the photos our good pal, Leif, snapped at the CoTR #1 - Condo Cross two weeks ago, then you're in for a treat!

For everyone else, have another look and just try to not get all twisted up for the second instalment of Cross on the Rock tomorrow in Cumberland: "Another Dodgey Cross Race (Formerly Coal Cross)"

A huge thanks to all of the race organizers, sponsors, volunteers and shit-head spectators who make this such an incredible race series.

Hurricane Pictures

Below are a few more shots from the Hurricane Ridge ride:
This ride is very doable on brakeless fixed gears, the gradient is perfect, the scenery is truly awesome and they serve hot dogs at the top. These are essential elements in any fixed gear long distance riding.
I rode a 48x18 for the climb and 48x15 for the descent, using the excellent Miche quickchange system so I only had to carry a lock ring tool. Clay had a flip flop wheel which is an even better idea.
It was an enjoyable ride.

Not only did Jon Lake demonstrate that he is a monster on the rollers, but he came through with yet another killer photo set from the VICF x Rifflandia Kickoff party at Phillips Brewery.
