The first alleycat of the year had an impressive turnout; well done, racers and organizers for putting on a great event. Cold but dry conditions meant some fast winter racing was in order. Claydor Gunnarwebb won the race and a full recap is on the way but here are the photos I took from the infamous passport checkpoint that tricked more than a few people.

Vancouver's Valentine's Day Massacre Feb. 16th, 2014
1pm, at The top of Little Mountain, Queen Elizabeth Park
$5 Entry fee
No Tandems
No Tandems
Vancouver's annual Valentine's Day Massacre alleycat will be on Sunday, February 16th at 1pm.
The race will be a long one, encouraging peloton tactics in the style of the Bridge Battle. Expect a two hour race with ten relatively easy-to-find checkpoints. Entrance fee will be waived if you took a ferry to get there.
Last year's race was won on a tandem, so that's not allowed this time. One rider per bike.

Aldor Acres and an Interview with meat.
VANCOUVER, BC - After what could be best described as a heroic disregard for personal safety at Jeff's 30th birthday party the night before, I woke up on Jimmy Weeks' couch with my hand impregnated with hasty carbon filings and partially epoxied to the inside of my upper thigh.

Two Days!
Two short days.
Hopefully you've all been spending the last few weeks honing form, tuning equipment, and brushing up on Victoria's back roads.
Or maybe you've been spending time on the beach, drinking cider and playing with throwing knives.
Either way, it all goes down this Sunday. 100km, lots of elevation. Tarmac, gravel, confusion and chaos.

Monster Track 14
So, I went to Monster Track 14 this year in New York. The race was started by New York messengers and the only bikes permitted to enter are brakeless track bikes.
Monster Track is by far the craziest alley cat I have ever raced in.

2012 Hotel Grand Pacific Harbour Sprints à Larocque
VICF - Harbour Sprints from Aaron Larocque on Vimeo.
Apparently, I missed this little gem by Aaron Larocque from last year's Hotel Grand Pacific Harbour Sprint series. To celebrate, I took off my pants and created a Stuckylife/VIACRA channel on Vimeo. Check it out!

Hotel Grand Pacific Harbour Sprints - Round 2 Photos & Results
The end of 2012 is rapidly approaching, which means it's time to tie up some loose ends in the Stuckylife blogosphere (read: finally finish some posts from our busy, busy summer). So without further ado, here are the photos from the second and final round of the Hotel Grand Pacific Harbour Sprints!
Although I (Gillian) was in LA and not out there braving the torrential downpour, this was an evening that perhaps best illustrates what Stuckylife and our local community is really about - a willingness to celebrate all forms of cycling, no matter the circumstances, and tradition of general badassery.

2012 Cyclocross Season Wrap
What a season.
From the first hot and dusty races in early September, through the last mud-soaked weekend of November, the Stuckylife crew have been chasing 'the perfect hour' on Vancouver Island's cyclocross courses.
Phenomenal performances from good friends, team members, and close rivals have made for some hard races and great spectating.
The Cross on the Rock crew do a remarkable job in running their series. With what may be the highest attendance of any cyclocross series in Canada, we're honored to contribute to the high calibre of racing in the area.
Click through for a quick thank you and a selection of fine photographs from our own Geoff Robson.
