2012 Cyclocross Season Wrap

What a season.

From the first hot and dusty races in early September, through the last mud-soaked weekend of November, the Stuckylife crew have been chasing 'the perfect hour' on Vancouver Island's cyclocross courses.

Phenomenal performances from good friends, team members, and close rivals have made for some hard races and great spectating.

The Cross on the Rock crew do a remarkable job in running their series. With what may be the highest attendance of any cyclocross series in Canada, we're honored to contribute to the high calibre of racing in the area.

The Leechtown Invitational: Race Recap no.2

Yesterday morning started out grey, but unexpectedly dry.
After several cups of coffee, some last-minute preparation, and lots of indecision about glove choice, I got out the door and down to Recyclistas and the Switch Bridge for registration.

24 racers started, with an always fascinating array of competitors. A good portion chose cross bikes for the day, with a handful on road bikes. A couple of bold SSCXers, and two gallant brakeless track bikes.

A rolling start saw racers through the first 16 km of trail, providing time to strategize, chat, and check out the competition.

As soon as we were across Veterans Memorial, it was game on.

Leechtown

Today was the first of which I hope are many, Leechtown races.
For those of you not familiar with what or where Leechtown is, take a look.

In my usual procrastinating way I decided to build my Masi SS late last night for the "race." I figured that a SS would be safe as most of the @stuckylife guys run singles. Man was I surprised when the only two SS ( not including the fixies) were Pro city boys, Colin being the other. Well, no refunds so nut up and enjoy the hurt!

Living the Dream

Clay Webb and Dave Cooke - InnerViews from www.KORDUROY.tv

As it turns out, Clay is famous after all.
Here is what korduroy.tv had to say about his recent bike/surf epic:
In the summer of 2010, these two Canadians rode their bikes 1200 miles from Vancouver Island in Canada to Tijuana, Mexico. They hauled trailers with surfboards, food and minimal camping gear as they searched for waves and good times.
Here’s a little backstory according to Dave..
