The Stuckylife Semiprestige Winter Cyclocross Series

We're not done yet.

It is with great pleasure that we present the Stuckylife Semiprestige Winter Cyclocross Series.

Presented by the good people at Broad Street Cycles, our three-race unsanctioned cross series will bring some joy to these fallow winter months.

The first event, a grassroots riff on a classic cross race will offer 45min of lung-burning excitement, and a social Sunday afternoon.

Semiprestige CX Race
SUNDAY Dec 15th, 2013
-12 noon
-A & B race
-$5 entry
-All abilities, bikes and ages welcome. Spectating encouraged!

Bunnyhop the barrier for event details:
[----------------]

The course is a brand new, 2km loop on private property. Kindly offered up by the McKean family (support your local bike shop!), it will be a tight, twisty variation on your typical Island CX course.
A large field, tree fort, lots of garry oak, some mossy rocks and a few ridiculous run-ups.
Definitely not UCI-compliant.

Parking: Riding out to the race is highly encouraged, though limited public parking is available on Woodsend Dr, 500m south of the course.

The Broad St. boys will be leading a group ride from their shop up to the race. Rolling out at 11am from the shop (1419 Broad St), this mellow pace CX ride will take trails and single track en route to the race course.

As well, Broad Street Cycles will be on hand for "neutral" support solutions.

Bring a backpack with warm clothes and drinks. We will have a few tents set up, possibly some warming beverages on tap, and are planning on making a day of it. Lights for the ride home might be a good plan.

UPDATED Bring some cash with you. Purveyors of baked Belgian batter, Wannawafel, will be on course and serving hot Liege waffles. We are psyched!

Free entry if you take a ferry to get here!

Schedule
11am- Group ride from Broad St Cycles to the race course.
12pm- Course open for pre-riding
12:30- B race (35+min)
12:15- Course open for pre-riding
1:30- A race (45+min)
2:15- Podium! Champagne! Revelry!

Look for updates later in the month on the Boxing Day CX TT, and the return of Halldor's Blubber Burn, the Island's most technical cyclocross race.
