Sunday Night Ride

Yesterday evening Rennys and I decided to capitalize on the increased hours of daylight and a sunny Sunday by heading out on a mini-epic ride. The spontaneous adventure would take our (soon-to-be) sorry asses up into the Highlands via Munns Road and then back down to West Saanich Road via Ross Durrance Road.

For those of you who don't know the area....well we soon discovered it's called the Highlands for a reason. The heaps of climbs are complimented by deadly hairpin turns, plentiful 15% grades and two way traffic on one way roads.

All in all a challenging, beautiful and rewarding ride, it's definitely worth a spin as the summer weather comes upon us. That being said I wouldn't recommend doing this route on a brakeless track bike; it was loads of fun but as Rennys puts it, some of the sections were a little "greasy."
