Yesterday a resident of Millbury, Ohio, learned the importance of checking a tire's pressure rating before inflating it. Approximately twenty-five minutes after over-inflating the rear tire on his daughter's bicycle, a loud explosion tore through the quiet neighbourhood.
The shock wave from the exploding tire shattered several windows in the man's home and set off a cascade of car alarms in the neighbourhood. Emergency response crews arrived on the scene within minutes; however, no one was injured in the blast.
"I just don't understand how this could have happened," the shaken homeowner later told reporters. "I guess I should have read the fine print on the tire."

This sad story resonates with thousands of other American men who have had their lives shattered by the unintended results of "pumpin' [sic] away" on something without thinking about the consequences.
Update:
In a bittersweet turn of events, the man who has come to be known as the 'Millbury Pumper' will be responsible neither for performing nor paying for the repairs to his home, as a foreclosure notice has since been posted on the property.
